Dave Earle

I’ve been obsessed with being strong since I was 12 years old.  I made a lot of progress, but I wasted A LOT of time not having a great mentor to guide me.  That’s why I began coaching over a decade ago - I wanted to be able to guide youth athletes, in Olympic weightlifting and other power sports, to their fullest potential.  I was able to set Ontario records in weightlifting and play rugby for the University of McMaster, but my achievements could have been even greater if I had an excellent coach from the start.

Our team is one of the largest and most successful in Canada, with athletes from recreational level to international masters competitors.  We make athletes who are mentally and physically strong, value movement quality, and rarely get injured.

I've been an athlete and exercised my whole life, but starting Olympic Weightlifting at Power Academy has given me a competitive outlet and a social way to train.  The people and coaches on the team here all have one thing in common: we're passionate about being better than we were yesterday.


My hope is that I am able to pass on my knowledge (from both my successes and failures) to help propel you in the sport, and add depth to whatever else you're training for.

Eric Quach

I started Weightlifting in 2018 after competing in both rugby and CrossFit.  As an athlete, I'm an Ontario Champion at 81kg, and 5th best in Canada.  I know what it takes to win, and focus on running practices that are fun, positive, and push you to be your best!  

Katie Mills

I’ve been obsessed with sports for as long as I can remember, and competed in rugby and wrestling before falling in love with Olympic Weightlifting in 2019.  


Great coaching took me from training alone in my garage for fun, to competing in the Junior and Senior National Championships in less than a year!  I started coaching because I want to be a difference maker in athletes’ lives, strengthening them both physically and mentally.
